Privacy And Policy
Last updated: 20 August 2026. This notice replaces our previous policy of 2023 and reflects how the site actually works today, including our AI assistant, our advertising, and how long we keep information.
1. Who we are
NiceBabyName.com is operated by Fate Wonder LLC, 3400 Cottage Way, Ste G2 #14165, Sacramento, CA 95825, USA. We are the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at support@nicebabyname.com for any privacy question or request.
We also operate TheFourAspects.com and AstroNameology.com; this notice covers those sites too.
2. What we collect, why, and on what legal basis

3. Our AI assistant
The chat assistant on this site is an artificial intelligence system, not a human. It is labelled as such wherever it appears.
What you type is sent to OpenAI (United States) to generate a reply, and the conversation is stored by us in Amazon Web Services DynamoDB so the assistant can follow the thread. Please do not type information you would not want processed this way.
The free "Four Aspects" reading analyses the name you give us, together with the parents' names, and describes character tendencies. This is profiling in the sense of Article 4(4) GDPR. It is offered for reflection and entertainment: it does not decide anything about you, it produces no legal effect, and no decision with a similarly significant effect on you is made automatically. You can object to this processing at any time (see section 8), and a human is always available through our consultation service.
4. Information about other people
To produce a reading, people often give us the names of a child, of parents or grandparents, and sometimes dates of birth. Where you give us information about someone else, please only do so if you are entitled to, and please tell them about this notice.
We use that information only to produce the reading requested, we do not use it to build profiles for advertising, and it is deleted under the retention periods in section 7. If you are one of those people and want your information removed, write to support@nicebabyname.com and we will erase it.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies that are strictly necessary to run the site (for example your session and security tokens) are always set. Analytics and advertising cookies are only set if you agree. When you first visit, you can accept all, reject all, or choose. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the footer, which re-opens the same panel.
If you allow them, we use Google Analytics 4, Google Ads and Google AdSense, which set cookies and identifiers in your browser. If you refuse, those services are not loaded at all.
6. Who we share information with
- OpenAI — processes chat messages to generate replies (US)
- Amazon Web Services — hosting, storage of chat transcripts (US)
- Stripe — payment processing (US/EU)
- Google — Analytics, Ads, AdSense and reCAPTCHA, only with your consent for the advertising and analytics parts (US)
- Google Workspace / our mail provider — sending email
- Amazon Associates — we earn a commission if you buy through product links on our name pages and blog; those links are disclosed where they appear
We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising cookies may count as "sharing" under California law; see section 10.
7. How long we keep things
| Information | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Chat conversations | 12 months, then deleted automatically |
| Chat session records including IP and approximate location | 6 months, then anonymised |
| Login records | 6 months |
| Sent email copies | 3 months |
| IP addresses stored with votes | 3 months |
| Account and profile | While your account exists; deleted when you delete it |
| Payment and invoice records | As required by tax law (generally 7 years) |
| Server access logs | 14 days |
8. Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or send it to another provider. You can object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and you can object to direct marketing at any time — we will always stop. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing is as easy as giving it.
The fastest way is the Your data and privacy page in your dashboard, where you can download everything we hold about you or delete your account and its data yourself. You can also email support@nicebabyname.com. We answer within one month.
If you are in the EEA or UK and think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority. A list of EEA authorities is published by the European Data Protection Board, and UK users can contact the Information Commissioner's Office.
9. Children
This service is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account. We do not knowingly let children create accounts or send us their own information.
Our service does, by its nature, process information about babies and children that their parents give us. We treat that information with particular care: it is used only to produce the requested reading, it is never used for advertising or profiling for advertising, and it is deleted under section 7. Parents can ask us to delete it at any time.
10. California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the footer to opt out. We also honour the Global Privacy Control signal automatically: if your browser sends it, advertising is switched off without you doing anything else. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
11. International transfers
We are based in the United States, and the providers listed in section 6 are mainly in the United States. When personal data is transferred out of the EEA or UK we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, together with the providers' certifications under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where they hold them. You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards we rely on.
12. How we protect information
Traffic is encrypted with HTTPS and HSTS. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. Access to administrative tools is restricted by role. We keep data only as long as section 7 allows, which limits what could ever be exposed.
13. Changes to this notice
If we change how we use personal data we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be signalled on the site.
